Andreya Triana returns with the sweet Spring sounds of her new single, ‘That’s Alright With Me’, out on 25th May 2015 through Counter Records. Following the huge success of her recent sold out Village Underground show, she also announces a headline gig at KOKO on November 17th.
A recent 4* live review in the Evening Standard stated Andreya was crossing into ‘Adele territory’, and the achingly honest ‘That’s Alright With Me’ perfectly showcases the mellower side of Andreya’s songwriting. Packed with soulful hooks and over-flowing with passion, the gentle piano and subtle, clean guitars circle around each other, creating perfect layers to compliment Andreya’s lyrics. The song slowly builds to a hook filled chorus complete with singing brass and soaring strings, and as ever Triana’s strong, husky vocals shine through effortlessly. The single retains the emotion of a true love song while bringing a fresh feel to classic soul. Listening to ‘That’s Alright With Me’ will certainly get your mind wandering and your toes tingling.
Andreya says: “I wrote That's Alright With Me at a point when I was feeling quite reflective, I wanted to write something universal and also hopefully something that people could relate to. I was thinking about times of struggle and how the love of amazing people around me got me through. I guess it's a 'All You Need Is Love' kinda song! ”
The single precedes the release of Andreya’s highly anticipated album ‘Giants’, out May 4th on Counter Records. The record is produced by Matt Hales (Lianne La Havas, Paloma Faith) and is an elegant melting pot of styles, sounds and themes effortlessly brought together by a voice both distinct and timeless in equal measure.
Andreya’s recent single ‘Gold’ was a staple on the Radio 2 A List, where she has done sessions with both Jo Whiley and Dermot O’Leary and has had had support from Jamie Cullum. Hackman’s remix of the track has featured on BBC Radio 1Xtra while the Nikitch remix was premiered on 6 Music by Gilles Peterson and online through Majestic Casual.
Hailing from South London, Andreya has already collaborated with highly acclaimed artists and producers, including Flying Lotus and Bonobo who went on to produce Andreya’s debut album, ‘Lost Where I Belong’. Breach remixed her original track ‘Everything You Never Had’ and the track reached the Top Ten of the UK single charts in November 2013 and was A-Listed at BBC Radio 1. Andreya was also celebrated in the Evening Standard’s Power 1000 List of Most Influential Londoners and was invited by the Arts Editor to perform at the event they held at Battersea Power Station.
